Broadreach is looking for a talented Lead Electrical Systems Design Engineer to join an exciting and forward-thinking boatbuilding company. This is a technical, hands-on role focusing on vessel electrical systems rather than management.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Leading the Electrical Design Change Request (DCR) process for all vessels.

Ensuring high standards of quality and consistency across electrical design projects.

Working closely with electrical designers, production managers, and external suppliers to drive successful project outcomes.

Producing precise electrical schematics, panel drawings (AutoCAD), and cable running schedules.

Applying your understanding of manufacturing processes and installation requirements to enhance project efficiency.

Attending key meetings to stay up-to-date with contract variations and production feedback.

Managing resources within the electrical design team.
What We’re Looking For:
Knowledge & Experience:

Expertise in marine AC and DC electrical systems, materials, and techniques.

Familiarity with yacht systems, component placement, and installation.
-
Understanding of electrical installation processes for small craft production.
-
Experience with marine digital switching systems (e.g., CZone) is a plus.
-
Knowledge of marine lighting systems and system integration is desirable.

Exposure to marine electrical and hybrid drive systems is advantageous.
Skills & Qualifications:

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.

Excellent time management and organisational skills.

Relevant design-related degree/qualification or equivalent electrical design experience.

18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
-
BMEA Marine Electrical Technician qualification (desirable).
