About Us:
Broadreach is a leading supplier in the bespoke furniture design and manufacturing industry, specialising in high-end residential and commercial projects.  We are seeking a skilled Furniture Finisher with a passion for wood and specialist finishes to join our client’s expert team.

Role Overview:
As a Furniture Finisher you will be responsible for finishing our client’s bespoke furniture pieces, ensuring they meet their exacting standards. Your expertise in working with wood and applying specialist finishes is essential to delivering the high-quality products our clients expect.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and finish high-end wooden furniture using various techniques, including staining, polishing, lacquering, and oiling.
  • Apply specialist finishes such as distressing, gilding, veneering, and hand-rubbed finishes.
  • Sand, smooth, and refine surfaces to ensure a flawless finish.
  • Mix and match stains, paints, and finishes to achieve the desired colour and effect.
  • Inspect completed pieces to ensure they meet quality standards and client specifications.
  • Collaborate with designers and cabinet makers to achieve the intended aesthetic and functional outcomes.
  • Maintain and operate finishing tools and equipment, ensuring they are kept in good working order.
  • Keep accurate records of work completed, including materials used and time spent on each project.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices in the workshop.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Furniture Finisher or in a similar role, specifically working with wooden furniture.
  • In-depth knowledge of wood types, grains, and finishes, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Expertise in applying a range of specialist finishes, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work with both traditional and modern finishing techniques.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Strong understanding of colour theory and how to achieve desired effects on wood surfaces.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills.
  • Experience in a bespoke or high-end furniture environment is highly desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in furniture finishing, woodworking, or a related field is preferred.
