Commercial Gas Engineer

We are hiring a Gas Engineer on behalf of our client

What’s required

 

In this job, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of gas systems across approximately 100 buildings at our clients site. 

You will be working on a mix of day shift and night shift

Your contracted hours will be 42 hours per week 0600-1800 or 0800 – 0600 depending on which shift you are working.

 

Your responsibilities will include

  • Performing gas safety checks, diagnosing and repairing faults, conducting installations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Conducting routine gas safety inspections and servicing on commercial properties.
  • Diagnosing and resolving gas-related faults efficiently and effectively.
  • Carrying out installations and upgrades of gas appliances and systems as required.
  • Maintaining accurate records of work undertaken, including service reports and gas safety certificates.
  • Responding promptly to emergency call-outs and providing excellent customer service at all times.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and contractors to ensure the smooth running of gas systems across the portfolio.
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices

You will ideally:

  • Gas Safe registered with relevant qualifications (e.g., CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1).
  • IOSH Managing Safety would be a big advantage.
  • Preferably 10 years (minimum of 5 years) experience in building services and plant engineering.
  • Excellent communications both written and verbal.
  • Numerate and computer literate.
  • Working with others – Works effectively as part of a team. Shares ideas and information with the team.
