Broadreach Recruitment is seeking a Design & Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in AutoCAD and a bench qualification in Cabinet Making or Joinery. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading manufacturer of luxury bespoke furniture and high-end joinery for superyachts and exclusive residential projects. You will work closely with design and production teams to create technical solutions that bring exceptional interior concepts to life.
The Role
As a Design & Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing technical designs and manufacturing solutions for bespoke furniture and joinery projects. Combining your hands-on experience in cabinet making or joinery with strong AutoCAD skills, you will play a vital role in ensuring projects are delivered with precision, efficiency, and the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed technical drawings for manufacturing using AutoCAD and other CAD software
- Develop manufacturing solutions that align with design intent and production capabilities
- Liaise closely with designers, craftsmen, and production teams to ensure feasibility of designs
- Provide technical guidance on materials, construction methods, and assembly techniques
- Work collaboratively to optimise production processes, reducing waste and improving efficiency
- Ensure all technical drawings meet industry standards and client specifications
- Support problem-solving and troubleshooting during production and installation phases
- Stay up to date with innovative materials and modern manufacturing techniques
What We’re Looking For
- Bench qualification in Cabinet Making or Joinery with hands-on workshop experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to create accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings
- Experience working in luxury bespoke furniture, high-end joinery, or yacht interiors
- Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, specialist finishes, and materials
- Understanding of CNC processes and modern manufacturing methods
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across departments
- A passion for high-quality craftsmanship and innovative design solutions
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience with other CAD software such as SolidWorks or Rhino
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and process improvements
- Knowledge of marine or high-end residential furniture requirements
