Furniture Finisher & Spray Shop Manager

Role Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled and meticulous Furniture Finisher & Spray Shop Manager to take

ownership of our client’s finishing processes, ensuring all products meet the highest quality standards. This role

requires extensive hands-on expertise in wood finishing, paint spraying, and workflow management, as

well as leadership in maintaining efficiency within our finishing department.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections and prepare woodwork for pre-finishing to

an exceptional standard.

• Finishing & Spraying: Perform spray priming, lacquering, staining and paint finishing using

both hand-spraying techniques and automated machinery.

• Preparation & Process Optimisation: Manage paint finish preparation, staining and specialist

finishes to achieve flawless results.

• Workflow & Team Management: Organise and optimise finishing schedules to maximise

efficiency and meet production timelines.

• Workshop & Equipment Maintenance: Oversee maintenance of finishing tools, machinery and

environmental standards in alignment with health and safety regulations.

• Technology & Reporting: Utilise internal software and IT systems to track progress, monitor

quality and report on production status.

Candidate Profile:

 

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and detail-driven professional with a strong

background in high-end furniture finishing. The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum 5 years’ practical experience in high-end furniture spray finishing.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience managing a busy spray shop or finishing department.

• Expertise in water-based products (preferred but not essential).

• Strong knowledge of staining techniques and specialist finishes.

• A keen eye for detail and ability to maintain consistently high-quality standards.

• Confidence and experience to contribute to department improvements and efficiency strategies.

• Excellent workflow management and project organisation skills.

• A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
